Fanfiction

Fan fiction (also spelled fanfiction and commonly abbreviated to fanfic) is fiction written by people who enjoy a film, novel, television show or other media work, using the characters and situations developed in it and developing new plots in which to use these characters. - Wikipedia

I’ve always liked fan fictions, but I’ve never felt the drive to make one. Of course, back when I was 12 I always wrote Dragonball Z fan fictions, but what preteen Toonami watcher with a broad knowledge(for their age) of the internet didn’t? I’ve finally made up my mind, and I’m starting on a FLCL fan fiction. It will be a very different mood from the anime… not as hyperactive, because that’s not truly how the series ended. It will be hosted at Fanfiction.net, and then it will probably be flamed by anime fanboys who masturbate to Evangelion. But I think I’ll take my chance.

Tech TV: Resurrected?

Filed under: The Old TechTV Crew

Is Tech TV being ressurected? It surely seems so. With Leo Laporte starting up the ‘This Week In Tech‘ Podcast, Kevin Rose’s and Dan Huard’s ‘the broken‘ and ‘systm‘, Yoshi DeHerrera’s ‘From The Shadows‘, ‘Diggnation’, and ‘Command-N’ it just seems like this is the resurgence of Tech TV, but on the internet. These shows take advantage of BitTorrent and other programs like IPodderX to get their content around. These guys(and girls) seem to be quite content with keeping their stuff on the web, and that’s a great first step for the future of quality internet multimedia.

Mmmm… webcam goodness.

I originally got my Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 webcam from my sister to make claymations. For like, a month I was claymation crazy. But one thing I am proud about with my ‘craze’ is The Zombie Movie. I made it with a few friends. Anyways… recently I’ve found a new use for my webcam. Lightsaber movies. On Digg.com I found a link to LS Maker. It looked promising. So I made and a quick little demo. After that demo, a member(IEM) on Global Nintendo Forums mentioned making a longer, plot-based video. So I made an about 20 second clip that me and my girlfriend taped with the Pro 4000. I then talked to my good friend, Pikapig, about hosting the video on his site, Lukerpig.com. He agreed. So now I had a host. The ‘Don’t Touch My Saber’ Video.
